'Denis Gäbel feiert die Lust am Jazz!“ schreibt die Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung nach einem Konzert des Kölner Saxofonisten im Osnabrücker Blue Note. Journalist Rainer Köhl fügt nach dem Finale des Neuen Deutschen Jazzpreises 2016 hinzu: „Als überragender Gestalter präsentierte sich Denis Gäbel mit seinem Quartett. Der Tenorsaxofonist gehört längst zu den stärksten Vertretern seines Fachs. Hier nun entwickelte er eine Reife und Meisterschaft, die zum Besten gehört, was man derzeit im Jazz zu hören bekommt.“
